Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, which has been open for a few weeks, scheduled the grand opening of its St. Johns Town Center store for Sept. 3.
Its hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
The company opened its first Jacksonville store at 4643 River City Drive, No. 101, next to Ashley HomeStore near Target.
The grand opening begins at 9 a.m. with a “board cutting” and giveaway bags at a $20 value for the first 300 customers.
Rockler scheduled a meet-and-greet with CEO Steve Singer and with Chris Marshall, editor of Woodworker’s Journal Magazine.
Marshall will demonstrate woodworking processes at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
There will be product experts and brand representatives all day, along with promotions and giveaways.
The grand opening event continues on Saturdays through Oct. 22 with promotions.
The city issued a permit July 19 for VSI Construction & Facility Services of Brookland Park, Minnesota, to build-out 10,807 square feet for Rockler at a cost of $498,624.
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, a Minnesota-based retailer of products, services and training for woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers, opened in the former Pier 1 Imports store in St. Johns Town Center.
Rockler Woodworking said on rockler.com the new store will feature Rockler innovations (new products), a “huge lumber outlet,” top power tool brands, classes and more.
Rockler Companies Inc. of Medina, Minnesota, near Minneapolis is the business owner.
Rockler Woodworking has at least 42 stores in 23 states, its website shows. It also has independent resellers.
Its three Florida stores are listed as Altamonte Springs, Brandon and Jacksonville.
Rockler.com says Norton Rockler started the Minnesota Woodworkers Supply Company in north Minneapolis in 1954 as a small mail-order business.
